  1. Sharpness - The subjective impression of Acutance when viewing a photograph. Sharpness is also related to graininess, and together, they make up the even more subjective impression of definition. Of the two, graininess is normally considered less objectionable than unsharpness. Indeed, graininess can slightly compensate for unsharpness simply because the edges of the grain clumps themselves are clear.
